What the hell have I been up to?

October 11, 2016
Kawaii Klaws, Life, My Life, Weekly Wrap, What I Wore

Hi friends! I haven’t been blogging too much lately, as I’m sure you’ve probably noticed! It’s not because I don’t want to (I actually really miss blogging) but my time management skills are abysmal and I just haven’t forced myself to dedicate more time to blog. But recently I kind of had a mini epiphany where I realised I was lacking motivation in my creative and professional life and it bummed me out. So I am attempting to turn over a new leaf and find my motivation again for all of the things I love doing! Including blogging, of course :)

So what the hell have I been up to lately since my last posts? Well, working mostly. I’ve actually been getting busier at work which has been great, but it’s also meant I’ve really dropped the ball in other parts of my life. But busy, yay! I’m going to aim to do more nail art posts here, probably to coincide with the weekly newsletter I do. I have a few fun plans to do with Kawaii Klaws which I’m going to start rolling out over the rest of the year, but I’ll keep you updated here!

Here are a few recent nail art designs I’ve done lately. If you wanna see more, just pop on over to my instagram or facebook page!

If you don’t follow me on instagram (@rockfotze) then you’ll have no idea what I’ve been wearing lately! But don’t stress, here’s a few samples of the outfits I’ve worn in the last few weeks:

In other news, it’s now October. Yay! Which means I have started my 31 Days of October challenge! I’ll try to do some blog posts here about it BUT just in case I flake out like lat year, you can suss it on my instagram! Unfortunately I don’t have anything as exciting as a Halloween wedding to finish off my challenge with BUT I am having a big ol’ Halloween Party on the 29th which will be pretty fun. Ben and I are working on decorating our house to make it absolutely ridiculous and I can’t wait!

OK that’s all for now. Fingers crossed I am able to maintain my motivation and post more. Thanks for reading, pals!

My Birthday and Christmas 2013

January 6, 2014
My Life, Things I Like, Weekly Wrap, Wonderful Weekend

December is a pretty hectic time of year for everyone, but it’s especially so for me as it’s also the month of my birthday! I was actually born on December 23rd which is a big ol’ inconvenience because who has time to celebrate a birthday two days before Christmas? Ah well, I usually make the best of it :)

I had a great month though and thought I’d share some of the photos from this crazy time of year!

I celebrated my birthday a day early on the 22nd by having a BBQ with friends and family at our house, which means we finally got to utilise our awesome deck properly! We only just bought a table and chairs for it so it was great to make use of them. We’d also inherited the BBQ from the previous owners so it was nice to make use of it finally.

On my actual birthday I had to work (booo) but afterwards we had dinner at Papa Jack’s which is amazing. It’s New Orleans inspired which rocks because I still constantly think about the amazing foods we ate in NOLA (I will finish my posts about our trip, I promise). I had a few delish cocktails as well as some proper southern style cooking such as grits, gumbo and mac ‘n’ cheese. Yum!

On Christmas eve, which I also had to work (boooooooo) we had afternoon lawn bowls at the most fantastic and quaint little club. As it turns out I am a bit of a natural at lawn bowls! Despite the heat I simply had to rock the Jake the Dog leggings Ben got me for my birthday!

Christmas day was at our place again where my family came along as well as our two friends Tony and Renae as their families are in the USA and we were keen to spend as much time as possible with them before they moved up to Rockhampton. We ate lots of tasty food and drank soooo much delicious booze including a wide range of beers provided by Ben, a proper bottle of champagne (that was surprisingly delicious) and the cake flavoured vodka I brought back from the USA.

Boxing day was all about going to see the new Hobbit (it was excellent, as expected) and then relaxing for the rest of the day, occasionally stuffing my face with Christmas leftovers

I got pretty spoiled with presents between both my birthday and Christmas:

I got lots of Black Milk including a couple of vouchers, shoes, perfume, jewelry, books, stationary, a plant, a giant clock, a voucher to get my hair cut (finally), a Sodastream, a tattoo voucher and so much more! In fact I later realised I forgot to include a few other presents! I am so spoiled :D

I hope everyone else had a lovely Christmas and got lovely things and spent time with those who mean the most to you!

What’s Goin’ On

June 7, 2010
My Life, Weekly Wrap, What I Wore, Zombie Walk

I am a strong believer in not writing unless I have something worthwhile to say, hence why I have been a bit quiet round here lately! But I also believe sometimes it’s a good idea to blog about random things and not just about one subject each and every time. Which is why I am writing right now! I figured I’d keep ya’ll updated on what’s occupying me so that you k now I’ve not just ditched my blog and moved on to other things.

OMG look who is dressed corporate! That’s right, me! After getting so many excellent comments on my last post, I figured I’d suck it up and get some good corporate pieces to start myself off and see how I went. Even more shocking, I got both the short and skirt at Cue! On Friday after work while killing time before an appointment I accidentally discovered they were having a sale and found this gorgeous pencil skirt and shirt or over half price. Of course, being the spend thrift I usually am, this was still pretty pricey for what I’d planned to spend but damn they’re so nice! The skirt is lovely and fits so well and doesn’t give me the dreaded fat-office-chair-arse! It has a cute ruffle at the back but I’m afraid I am not yet brave enough to go posting pictures of my butt on the internet (sorry guys!). This picture doesn’t do the outfit justice as I was tired after a long Monday at work, plus I have a cold and am pretty run down. But I got lots of positive comments at work, my team leader was so delighted when she saw me walk into work! So it was definitely worth it. Now to brave the dreaded work pants which I also managed to buy this weekend (though as it turns out I’ve gone down a pants size so I was actually kind of excited about the pants in the end).

As I mentioned, I have gone and gotten myself another cold. I was still suffering from the one I got months ago and then BAM along comes another one! The fact I forget to wear jackets all the time probably played a significant part in this so I have no one to blame but myself. As such I spent the weekend at my mum’s place to chill out and avoid the temptation of going out (which was hard as a close friend was having a farewell do on Saturday night). As such I learned a new skill: SEWING! Yep, I’ve moved on from scrapbooking to sewing! I’ve always wanted my own sewing machine so I can remodel all my old, daggy clothes and I have sewn one or two minor things in my life, but this weekend I spent an afternoon learning how to sew a jungle-themed cushion! Oh yes! It’s not yet finished but I was pretty proud of my efforts and may well show off the finished product whenever I get around to it! And to prove it really happened:

AMAZING!

We are getting right into the organisation of the Brisbane Zombie Walk for 2010. Right now we are looking or sponsors to help us make sure the walk actually happens! We’re getting together business proposals and all sorts of crazy stuff I never thought I’d find myself doing in the name of zombies! So far the walk is set to take place on Sunday 24th October, though there is a slim chance that could change. I’ve just designed a logo for the walk (sneak peak here) and am now going to start redesigning the website which is very daunting but also pretty exciting. We’ll soon have the option where people can register, and for those extra nice people, donate money at the same time.
We’re actually looking for volunteers for helping out with this years walk, if you or someone you know is interested PLEASE let me know by emailing zombie@brisbanezombiewalk.com as we need all the help we can get!

I am Crap at Blogging

February 26, 2010
Festivals and Gigs, My Life, Weekly Wrap

It is sad but true – I have become total balls at blogging lately. BUT it is not my fault! Since we moved last month we have been waiting (very impatiently) for our internet to be connected. It has seriously been over three weeks and it’s still NOT BLOODY CONNECTED! It’s a damn joke and I have been ranting and raving at them about it to no avail. So I don’t know when we’ll have the internet connected, if ever D: On the plus side our new unit is AMAZING and makes me happy every time I come home from work.

Speaking of work, I started a new job this week! It’s not necessarily a glamorous job but I am impressed by how good they are to their employees and have been having a blast  in training. With the exception of maybe one person, everyone in my group is awesome and I am going to really enjoy working with them all. I am stoked, let me tell you!

Aside from those two massive things, I have been enduring my HUGE month of festivals. Good Vibrations in Sydney was epic, Soundwave was fantastic and tomorrow is Future Music Festival! It’s been fun but I will be glad when it’s all over. I need sleep and a lot of it.

Until I can get back into writing more, I will leave you with a photo of myself from Soundwave where I got to meet Anvil! This is me and Lips! As you can probably tell I was EXTREMELY EXCITED!

Weekly Wrap 25/05/2009

May 25, 2009
Body and Soul, Festivals and Gigs, Life, Weekly Wrap, Zombie Walk

***

Given my appalling couple of weeks, I figured it’d be nice to wrap up my week – just the nice stuff that happened and have stuck in my mind.

Spending lots of time with my mum and getting stuff done / Doing a lot of exercise and feeling like a million dollars afterwards / Changing my eating habits and losing a few kg’s as a result / Seeing real-life macaws and hundreds of wild kangaroos on a unexpected bus trip home / An unplanned day off work that did me wonders / Fantastic news after a lot of bad / A bunch of flowers greeting me at work / Finding money while cleaning and having an amazing meal and seeing a film for FREE as a result / Excessive tea consumption / Silver platforms / Delicious perfume on sale / Finding amazing false lashes and nail decals for CHEAP / New Livejournal layouts that suit me far too well / Magners Cider / Singing bad pop music as loud as I can at work (without getting into trouble) / Anticipating my first ever hypnotherapy session…

This week is going to be so much better. I have a few interesting things to look forward to, like my first ever hypnotherapy sessions. I’m getting it to help my food-obsession, but I’m mostly excited about the whole idea of it, a friend got it done recently and said the experience was unbelievable, plus it worked! I’m going to something called a “Leadership Breakfast” through work on Thursday morning which sounds a little bit fancy and totally delicious. My mum got her loan approved which means she can move into her new house and not stress so much! This was what caused at least 40% of my stress lately so it’s a HUGE relief for us both.

I hope everyone else is having a good week too :)
