Thanks Cara ...I agree there is no point in being a miserable bastard all the time.Being a Drama Queen because you can't deal with life is no fun to those that care about you and to random strangers.I know I have my moments where a dark cloud follows me around. lol,You know who I work for ! But I remind myself everyone feels the same way at some point. My feelings or emotions are not unique to me,they belong to everyone. So thanks for some uplifting words that we all forget from time to time.

I whole-heatedly agree. Training myself to use positive thought patterns has made my life so much better. I have found it very useful to create a clear definition between 'Brain' and 'Self'. For instance, if 'Brain' is thinking about some morbid crap that is just going to kill my mood, i can just thank it for its input, and ask it instead to concentrate on how to more thoroughly enjoy the drive to work (or whatever I'm doing at the time).
Sounds silly, but it has lifted my mood immensely.
Great entry and very good advice :)

I agree. I often give myself 10 minutes or so of whining and wallowing, then I insist I move on. I find nothing more annoying than someone who insists on dragging out their misery, and trying to inflict it on everyone else.

I could not have put it better myself. I quite often these days will just be driving along in the car, thinking about nothing in particular, and then I hear Harriett in the backseat - and realise that it's her and her Dad that have made me so happy. Mmmmm. Warm fuzzies..... And as far as positive thinking goes, sometimes 'you've gotta get down to get up, to get down, to get up!'

Agreed 100% & nicely written. Some great advice... It made me think of how I come across sometimes. People who don't know me assume I am a negative grumpy shit because I am so sarcastic, but it's just my way of not taking life too seriously. You don't need to be flowers and lollipops on the outside to have a genuinely positive attitude.

I very much so agree with this idea of positive thinking, i must admit can be quite difficult to maintain in times of hardship and general life crap.

You only have to travel to a 3rd world country to appreciate how beautiful and wonderful Australia is to live and thinking of that gets me happy when things get down!
