Okay I am guilty of dissing mainstream commercialised R'n'B, but not without my reasons. I find it over-produced, shallow, soulless and unoriginal. To me, this music represents a profound ugliness in the world of music. I do, however, bear an enormous respect for the original rhythm and blues- jazz/funk/soul/gospel.

Now I believe music is a very personal thing, and if you enjoy listening to a song or a band then fuck the asshole music snobs, and listen to it. God knows I have been laughed at for some of the 'uncool' shit in my CD collection.

I guess what I'm trying to say is if people are going to judge you or think less of you for liking a style of music, then the problem is with them, not you. A couple of my mates listen to the most unbearable repetitive crap (in MY opinion, that is). I'm not going to lie and say I think it's awesome, but I say good on 'em for not trying to impress others/fit in... We're all different.

And you Cara, are a very original and unique person. The fact that you're not afraid to be yourself is a bloody great asset.
